
Known officially as cassia fistula, the golden shower tree is an important medicinal plant tree commonly used in traditional south Asian and African medical systems. The leaves, flowers, and pods are used to treat various illnesses like dysentery, diabetes, malaria, and blood poisoning. The roots and bark possess anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, and laxative properties which helps with stomach and intestinal issues. Mainly used for medical purposes, edible young leaves, flower, flower bud, and pod pulp, are rich sources of protein, calcium, and iron, that boost the treatment of various skin conditions, broken bones, and ulcers.
